Deniliquin Arrest

Deniliquin Arrest

A Deniliquin woman will appear in Albury Local Court today.

A woman will face court today charged with assault and drug supply offences following a police operation in the south of New South Wales.

At about 10.30am on Thursday, officers from the Deniliquin Criminal Investigation and Proactive Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Deniliquin.

Upon arriving at the location, police located the male occupant with knife wounds, believed to be sustained during an earlier altercation with the female occupant of the home.

The woman was arrested and taken to Deniliquin Police Station, where she was later charged with reckless wounding, supply prohibited drug and deal with property proceeds of crime.

The man sustained stab wounds to his arm and back and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to Deniliquin Local Hospital.

Officers located and seized more than $16,000 cash, ice and cannabis. A knife believed to be used in the assault was also seized.

Murray River Police District Crime Manager, Detective Acting Inspector Chris Wallace, said local drug supply will take a big hit from today’s arrests.

"Thanks to the proactive efforts and policing from our officers in Deniliquin, drugs that have the potential to tear apart families have been taken off our streets," he said.

"We will continue to disrupt and prevent the supply of illicit drugs to our community."

The woman was refused bail and is due to face Albury Local Court today.

Inquiries are continuing and further charges are expected to be laid.
