A full list of changes from this week in both states

Both Northern Victorian and Southern Riverina residents can expect some restrictions to be eased this week but the rules will vary across both States.

In Victoria, the new rules will come into effect from 11.59pm on Tuesday 12 May.

There is now a fifth rule added to the reasons to leave home: visiting friends and family.

The new rules in Victoria now include:

- Outdoor gatherings of up to 10 people
- Five visitors in your home, regardless of age
- Weddings with guests of up to 10 people
- Funerals can have 20 mourners indoors, up to 30 if they are held outdoors
- Outdoor recreational activities, including walking groups, hiking, fishing and golf will be allowed
- Training for professional sports (AFL, NRL) can resume

The Premier has revealed timeline for school return. Prep, Grade 1, 2, Year 11 and 12 will return on May 26. Years 3-10 will return to class on June 9.

The new restrictions and a renewed State of Emergency will be in place until 11.59pm on Sunday 31 May.

In New South Wales, the new rules will come into effect from Friday 15 May.

The new rules in New South Wales now include:

- Outdoor gatherings of up to 10 people
- Five visitors in your home, regardless of age
- Cafes and restaurants can seat 10 patrons at any one time
- Weddings with guests of up to 10 people
- Funerals can have 20 mourners indoors, up to 30 if they are held outdoors
- Religious gatherings/places of worship up to 10 worshippers
- Use of outdoor equipment with caution
- Outdoor pools open with restrictions

Schools in NSW have begun easing back into face-to-face learning.
